INVITATION TO THE 11TH AFRICAN FEDERATION OF INSTITUTES OF INTERNAL AUDITORS (AFIIA) CONFERENCE – MAY 26-31, 2025
The African Federation of Institutes of Internal Auditors (AFIIA) in collaboration with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Rwanda, extends to you, the Board, Management, and staff of your organization, an invitation to attend the 11th African Federation of Institutes of Internal Auditors (AFIIA) Conference and its preceding events at a week-long set of events.
AFIIA is the regional body and associated organization of the Global Institute of Internal Auditors. It consists of Institutes of Internal Auditors from various African countries including IIA Tanzania. AFIIA, among others, seeks to create opportunities for networking, sharing knowledge and expertise among affiliate institute members; and develop relationships with stakeholders and other bodies to improve governance. The organization of the AFIIA conference rotates among member institutes and the first AFIIA conference was organized by IIA-Uganda in Kampala in 2014.
The 2025 AFIIA Conference with the theme, ‘Building Bridges, Inspiring Changes’, is being organized in Kigali, Rwanda, East Africa. The conference comprises three exciting and carefully designed distinct events -The Governance Forum, AFIIA University, and AFIIA Conference. The three events provide varied experiences for participants from both the public and private sectors. These events, which attract more than 1,500 participants annually, create opportunities for internationally acclaimed resource persons on topical issues to share ideas with participants on emerging trends in leadership, corporate governance, risk management, fraud, information technology, and other related subjects.
THE 11TH AFIIA CONFERENCE
The main AFIIA conference is a three-day event whose target participants are Heads of Institutions, Chief Executives, Chief Directors, Board Members, Audit Committee Members, Senior Management Members, Internal Auditors, Risk, Compliance, Accounting/Finance, Procurement, Administration, IT/IS and other professionals of diverse backgrounds who are desirous of world-class professional development.

THE 11TH AFIIA GOVERNANCE FORUM
This is a two-day forum for Board Members, Audit Committee Members, Members of the Parliamentarian Oversight Committees, Chief Executive Officers, Senior Management, and Chief Audit Executives.

THE 3RD AFIIA UNIVERSITY
The University is a two-day master class for Practicing Internal Auditors and persons interested in building a sterling career in Internal Auditing. The master class focuses on the technical skills that the professional Internal Auditor requires to stand out among his/her peers.
