The Government of Tanzania changed its entry requirements due to COVID-19 effective 4th May 2021.
- All travelers are required to truthfully fill in an online Traveler’s Surveillance Form available at http:// afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz within 24hours before arrival to Tanzania. Travelers will then receive a Unique Health Code(UHC), which they will present to health officials.
- All travelers, whether foreigners or returning will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test certificate upon arrival. The best should be based on Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RTPCR) using sample collected within 72 hours before arrival to Tanzania.
- All travelers, whether foreigners or returning residents entering the United Republic of Tanzania,will be subjected to enhanced screening for COVID-19 infection including a Rapid test. The rapid test cost is 25 USD per traveler.
- All travelers, whether foreigners or returning resident arriving from India or having travelled through India in the last 14 days shall be subjected to a rapid test at the point of Entry followed stringent contact tracing and 14 days mandatory quarantine at their own cost.
- Travelers subjected for mandatory quarantine shall choose a place from the list designated by the Government. Returning residents will be allowed to isolate themselves in their homes.
- Upon arrival at the point of entry (Airport, ground crossing or ports), all travelers will be provided with health information cards with toll free number and advised to self-monitor for symptoms and sign. In case they develop any symptoms and signs, they will be tested and treated at designed health facilities by the Government at their own cost.
- Travelers on transit in other countries more than 72 hours will be required to be re-tested by rapid test upon arrival in Tanzania.
- While in the Country, all international travelers should adhere to Infection Prevention and Control Measures such as hand hygiene, mask wearing, and physical distancing as deemed appropriate.
